Large crowds come out to enjoy the cruise-in on Friday night of the Jackson Heritage Festival.

Jackson township resident Ron Mardis has owned his 1947 Plymouth since he purchased it shortly after his sixteenth birthday. The car sat for 40-plus years while Ron raised a family. After retiring from Bethlehem Steel's car shop, he spent seven years - "off and on, mostly during the winter months" - restoring the car.

Shawn Jones' 1966 Chevy El Camino originally belonged to his dad, Lonnie Jnes, who bought it in 1981. Shawn rescued it from storage, collected parts for years and finally restored the El Camino. The non-stick engine puts out 496 cubic inches.

The beautiful, white 1953 Corvette belongs to Al Irvin of Nanty Glo, whose son, Mark Irvin, and granddaughter, Micaela Irvin, both of Florida, drove it to the Jackson Heritage Festival's cruise-in. According to Mark, his dad tries "to get it out once a week."  (Photo by Jim Lauffer)

Joe Boyer of Belsano has owned his 1955 Chevy "Gasser" for about eight years. The Chevy is powered by 468 cubic inches. Jo drug the car out of a field and built it himself. He is a member of the Rusty Nutz Car Club.
