Public Comments Concerning Agenda Items:
Other New Business:
Steve Yurasek said, I have a couple. The Newsletter. . . .you highlight in the Newsletter how wonderful all these things are. . . you got a grant for everything. If you got a grant for everything, where did the million dollars go? Manager Hirko replied, they're matching grants.
Dick McDowell said, I have a comment on road conditions. On Adams Avenue between Burkharts and Gilkeys just before you get to Wissingers, there's a driveway on the left and it always runs a lot of water on the road and you end up with a big mess of ice there about this deep with potholes in it right in the middle of the street. Chairman Baker asked, right below Wissingers? McDowell answered, on the Burkharts side of Wissingers. . yes. It happens every year. Something needs done with the drainage on the side of the road and that driveway. The house is almost at road level and it's before you get to the driveway that goes into Wissingers. There's a little bit of a curve there but anybody who plows snow with a snowplow knows where it's at I bet. Baker said, especially with the way the weathers been lately. McDowell said, You've done a pretty good job of cleaning it off just recently but it happens every year and it's something that ought to be addressed in the summer time with better drainage at that driveway. It's been happening for years. There's probably a few other places around at the same time. Baker answered, there are. . .on out Adams too on the other side of Burkharts. . this side.
George Burkey said, we're going to open bids tonight. . .award a contract for Station 11 back here. When they designed them, they weren't big enough. We're going to put new pumps in there and we'll have 4 pumps for spares for Station 12 down there. We're going to have to buy a pump anyhow because they're going bad so we figured rather than buying the same size and rebuilding these, we might as well get the right size. Other than that. . . two people tested as far as I know. . one failed and one passed but not a lot of people have tested yet. They're asking questions and we have the website up and the contractors list. We're doing the best we can and we'll get through it. . have to.
Chairman Baker announced, The Board of Supervisors next scheduled meeting will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 7:00 pm at the Jackson Township Municipal Building.
Motion Wallet, second Westrick to adjourn the meeting at 8:10 am. Vote-3 yes.
