Executive Sessions Held:
Public Comments Concerning Agenda
Motion to appoint Calvin J. Webb as Special Counsel to prosecute Mandatory Tap Ordinance violators. Solicitor Barbin said, Agenda Item # 8 shouldn’t be adopted as there were some ifs, ands and buts after going over it with Attorney Webb so we probably want to table it. Motion Bracken, second Wallet to table Agenda Item # 8. Vote-3 yes.
Motion Wallet, second Bracken to adopt Resolution 08-08 which urges the Cambria County Board of Commissioners to restore coal assessments to levels existing prior to 1997. Vote-3 yes.
Other New Business:
Steve Yurasek said, my only comment is on that bump over there at the road because the snow plow operator, whoever he is for the Township. . . .we’re plowin it so we’re liable for our operating if somebody gets hurt. It’s not on your mind all the time and when you hit that. . . .if the trucks don’t move out of the way, they’ll break their truck or the blade or whatever they’re using. Supervisor Bracken said, that’s the one that Moreau said about. Chairman Baker added, we’re well aware of it. Yurasek said, there’s a permanent sing up now that says bump. . .it’s that old military style thing. . rather than fix the problem, put a sign on it.
Chairman Baker announced, the Board of Supervisors next scheduled meeting will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 7:00 pm at the Jackson Township Municipal Building.
