The Jackson Township Supervisors held their regular meeting at 8:00 a.m. at the Jackson Township Municipal Building. Members present were Supervisors Dave Bracken, Bruce Baker and John Wallet as well as Manager Dave Hirko and Solicitor Bill Barbin. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bruce Baker with the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
Board Roll Call was taken with all three Supervisors present.

Public Comments Concerning Agenda
Steve Yurasek said, I have a question on one of those items. . . on that $500,000. Grant, we have to match that. . .right? Solicitor Barbin replied, yes. . .the Redevelopment Assistance Grant for the Industrial Park. . yes. Yurasek asked, we have to put our $500,000. in too? Barbin answered, yes. . the land purchase can count for a big chunk of that. . not all of that but that will carry us about 60% of the way there then we'll have to come up with additional money. Supervisor Wallet asked, and what about the engineering fees? Barbin replied, yes. Manager Hirko replied, basically anything we spend on the project. Barbin said, yes. . .it all gets counted.
Notification of Traffic Control Signs
Placed Per Ordinance # 139:
Chairman Baker announced, new 25 mph speed limit signs were placed at both ends of Gillin Lane.
Motion Bracken, second Wallet to approve Resolution 05-09 authorizing the filing of an application for a $500,000. Grant under the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Vote-3 yes.
Motion Wallet, second Bracken to approve Resolution 06-09 authorizing the issuance of a Loan Guarantee to First National Bank in the amount of $1,700,000.00 for the Swigle Mountain Road Water Project, contingent upon Local Governmental Unit Debt Act Approval. Vote-3 yes.
Motion Bracken, second Wallet to hire Philip Vaught Jr. as a Part-Time Police Officer for Jackson Township. Vote-3 yes.
Other New Business:
Chairman Baker announced, The Board of Supervisors next scheduled meeting will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 5:30 pm at the Jackson Township Municipal Building. Trick or Treat Night will take place in Jackson Township on Thursday, October 29, 2009 from 6 to 8 pm. East Taylor Township will also hold their Trick or Treat Night the same date and time. Free reflective Trick or Treat bags are available at the Municipal Building, Water Authority, Sewer Authority, Fire Hall, Police Station and Senior Center. Anyone wishing to participate in Trick or Treat Night and welcome Trick or Treaters should leave their porch light on. Free treats will also be available at the Municipal Building from 6 to 8 pm on that evening.
Motion Wallet, second Bracken to adjourn the meeting at 8:05 a.m. Vote-3 yes.
