SUPERVISORíS MEETING
December 29, 2011

The Jackson Township Supervisors held their regular meeting at 7:00 p.m. at the Jackson Township Municipal Building. Members present were Supervisors Bruce Baker, John Wallet and Mark Westrick along with Secretary/Treasurer/Manager Dave Hirko and Solicitor Bill Barbin. The meeting was called to order by Bruce Baker, Chairman with the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

Board Roll Call was taken with all three Supervisors present.

Public Comments Concerning Agenda Items:
Eugene Kist said, on your Agenda Item # 17 under tax collection. . .I understand our Tax Collector is Mrs. Baker. Solicitor Bill Barbin said, this is the Earned Income Tax Collector created by the County as a result of the change in the State Law that says the County will collect. Kist said, do you know what tax he is collecting? Barbin replied, itís not an individual, itís a company. Chairman Baker said, they collect it now. Kist said, you gentlemen arenít controlled by the County. . you have more power than your Congressmen and Senators.

Motion Wallet, second Westrick to approve Resolution 05-11 authorizing it's local tax collector, Berkheimer, to impose and retain costs of collection on delinquent taxes. Vote-3 yes.

Motion Wallet, second Westrick to approve Resolution 06-11 approving the updated Cambria County Hazard Mitigation Plan. Vote-3 yes.

Motion Westrick, second Wallet to hire William J. Motosicky III as a Part Time Police Officer for Jackson Township. Vote-3 yes.

Motion Wallet, second Westrick on approving the time sheets from November 13, 2011 through November 26, 2011, November 27, 2011 through December 10, 2011 and December 11, 2011 through December 24, 2011. Vote-3 yes.

Public Comments:
Eugene Kist
said, Iím very disturbed here. . .you only take comments, youíre not allowed to say nothin. You said about a tax on Mr. Berkheimer. . what is the tax. . .can anybody answer that or do I have to wait on a written comment on that. Chairman Baker said, you know as well as we do that Berkheimer collects our EIT Tax now Gene. Kist asked, Income Tax? Solicitor Barbin said, Earned Income Tax. . the 1%. Kist asked, who collects your Nuisance Tax? Barbin replied, Paulette Baker collects the Per Capita Tax. Kits said, Iím not speaking to you Mr. Barbin. . Iím speaking to the Board.

Announcements:
Chairman Baker
announced, The Board of Supervisors Annual Reorganization Meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 7:00 pm. The Board of Supervisors next regularly scheduled meeting will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 7:00 PM at the Jackson Township Municipal Building.
