February 16, 2009
The regular monthly meeting of the Jackson Township Planning commission was called to order by Chairman Bruce Baker at 6:30 p.m.
Roll call: Bruce Baker, Al Gailey, Don Knopsnyder, Laird Rager, Paul Wyrwas. All present.
Public Comments
Steve Yurasek commented
on the drainage situation at the intersection of Leidy Lane and Adams Avenue. He
also commented on concerns that it may affect the newly installed pumping
station.
Minutes
The minutes of the
January 19, 2009 Reorganization / Regular Meeting of the Planning Commission
were distributed to members. Motion to approve by Al Gailey, Second by Laird
Rager. Five Yes. Motion passed.
Correspondence
Notice received regarding
a public meeting on Storm Water Management. The meeting will be held February
23, 2009, 6:30 pm at the Jackson Township Municipal Building, conducting the
meeting will be Scott Klingenberg from P. Joseph Lehman Engineers.
A letter from Keller Engineers regarding the grant funding for improvements to pump stations. Grant application / project needs the approval of local and county planning commissions.
New Business
RJ Young, Site Plan for
shop/storage building on Pergrim Hill reclamation site. Plan reviewed by board.
Motion by Paul Wyrwas, Second by Al Gailey. Five Yes.
Site plan for the Greater Johnstown Water Authority for the installation of a Meteorological Tower on Rager Mountain. Application determined to be incomplete. Motion to table action on the site plan by Al Gailey, Seconded by Don Knopsnyder. Five Yes.
Motion to approve JETSA's proposed upgrade of pumping stations, grant to pursue stimulus funding. Motion by Don Knopsnyder, Second by Paul Wyrwas. Five Yes.
