PLANNING COMMISSION
October 20, 2008

The Jackson Township Planning Commission meeting was called to order by Chairman Paul Wyrwas at 6:30 PM on October 20, 2008.  All members were present

PUBLIC COMMENTS
None

MINUTES
Don Knoppsnyder made a motion to approve the minutes of the regular meeting on September 15, 2008, and the special meeting on October 6, 2008.  The motion was seconded by Bruce Baker.  All in favor, motion passed.

CORRESPONDENCE
Letters were received from the Cambria County Planning Commission and the West Taylor Township Supervisors on the Multi-Municipal Comprehensive Plan.  The County Planning Commission commented the Plan was consistent with  the requirements of Act 247.  The West Taylor Township Supervisors reviewed the Plan and had no comment.

An E-Mail from Richard Sutter Associates was read announcing the Public Hearing for the Multi-Municipal Plan will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at 7:00 PM in the Ebensburg Municipal Building, Community Room.

NEW BUSINESS
The Site Plan submitted by Bernie Dospoy for establishing a display room and a retail sales office for window sales in the building formerly used as a flower shop just north of Sheetz was reviewed.  Don Knoppsnyder made a motion to accept the plan as submitted.  The motion was seconded by Laird Rager.  All in favor, motion passed.

OLD BUSINESS
Everyone was given a copy of Article 8 of the old subdivision ordinance which will be used as a reference to update Article 4 of the 2007 Subdivision Ordinance with regards to mobile home parks.  It was noted that several key requirements were overlooked in the 2007 Ordinance.

The draft of the proposed Nuisance Ordinance which was distributed to everyone at the October 6 meeting was discussed.  Paul submitted a revised definition for Hazardous Waste to replace the draft definition of Hazardous Chemicals.  The new definition would be more inclusive and prohibit pollution from more sources.   Paul Wyrwas made a motion to forward the draft of the Nuisance Ordinance along with the definition for Hazardous Waste to the Township Supervisors for review and passage.  Don Knoppsnyder seconded the motion.  All in favor, motion passed.     

Bruce Baker made a motion to adjourn at 7:10 PM.  Motion seconded by Paul Wyrwas. All in favor.  Motion passed.
