PLANNING COMMISSION
MEETING MINUTES
NOVEMBER 15, 2004

The Jackson Township Planning Commission meeting was called to order by Chairman Bruce Baker on November 15, 2004 at 6:30 p.m. All members were present.

Public Comments
Jerry Thomas said he had a subdivision he was going to propose at a future meeting and he would like to get the Planning Commissionís comments as to whether or not this subdivision would be possible.

Bruce Baker made a motion to add the Jerry Thomasí subdivision to the agenda under new business. The motion was seconded by Don Knopsnyder. All in favor. Motion passed.

Minutes
Don Knopsnyder made a motion to approve the minutes of the October 18, 2004 meeting. Seconded by Deb Nagle. All in favor. Motion passed.

Old Business
Mr. Richard C. Sutter of Richard C. Sutter and Associates, Inc. along with two representatives of his firm, Patrick K. Rabits and James A. Waple, briefly reviewed the first phase of updating the Comprehensive Plan. Each member was presented with a book which outlined the first phase of the comprehensive Plan. They asked that each member review the first phase information for correctness and they will discuss any comments or concerns at the January meeting.

New Business
The subdivision of John Sirko was reviewed. After much discussion Don Knopsnyder made a motion to table the subdivision due to the fact that the square footage of the lot did not meet the minimum requirements. The Planning Commission also asked that the solicitor review the subdivision for review of the wording on the subdivision. Deb Nagle seconded the motion. All in favor. Motion passed. The surveyor, Al Gaily, will redo the subdivision as a side-lot addition and it will be presented it at the next meeting.

Jerry Thomas proposed a plan for a possible subdivision for the Kris property on Dishong Mt. Road. He presented several possible scenarios to the commission for their opinion as to what would be the best way to complete this subdivision. He asked if there was a hardship exception or family exemption clause in the state code. After discussing this subdivision it was decided that the solicitorís opinion was needed and someone would get back to Jerry on the best way to complete the subdivision.

Deb Nagle made a motion that the Planning Commission send a letter to the supervisors recommending that Don Knopsnyder be reappointed to another term on the Planning Commission. Al Gaily seconded the motion. All in favor. Motion passed.

Don Knopsnyder made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:00 p.m. Deb Nagel seconded the motion. All in favor. Motion passed.
