Pittsburgh Shopping &
Overly Country Christmas Bus Trip
December 6, 2008
Two buses of Jackson Township
residents and invited guests traveled for a fun-filled day of shopping
and Christmas lights. The day began by a quick stop at IKEA, a
Swedish store located in Robinson Township near the Pittsburgh Airport.
From there we spent about 3 hours at the Robinson Towne Center, one of
Pittsburgh's newest indoor shopping malls. The trip continued with
a stop at Cabelas, a sportsman's paradise superstore located at the
Highlands Shopping Center near Wheeling, WV. The wintry weather
turned bad and the WV State Police closed down I-70 which made it
impossible to continue to the Oglebay Festival of Lights.
Disappointed not to see Oglebay, a quick alternate plan was made to stop
at Overly Country Christmas near Greensburg where we were graciously
welcomed by guides giving us a tour of the elaborate Christmas light
display located at the Westmoreland County Fairgrounds. The
weather and roads were much better as we traveled back into
Pennsylvania.
