Recycling On The Rise In Cambria County
Since the beginning of collections, the amount of recyclable material collected in Cambria County has been on a steady rise.  With a total of only 6 bin sites in Cambria County in 1998, the number has risen to 17 locations throughout Cambria, and 3 locations in Somerset County.  But increased sites are only part of the reason for the increase in recyclables collected.  As markets call for higher yields of quality materials, it is the people of Cambria and Somerset Counties that have come out to recycle at locations near to them.  It is the increase in participants for which much of the credit is due for the rise in collections.  The figures below are provided by the Cambria County Solid Waste Authority and reflect the amount of materials collected from 1998 to 2007.
