BEAVER CREEK
This band has been a staple with the
Pittsburgh bluegrass scene for many years. Beaver Creek has
made a great impact on fans throughout Pennsylvania and beyond. Since their inception in the early '80s, the band has
traveled extensively, spreading their own brand of bluegrass music,
weaving stories of life, love, loss and salvation -- and winning
plenty of fans along the way. Their sound remains fresh and vibrant and their stage
performance immediately connects with audiences of all ages.
From the beginning, the vocal
cornerstone of the group has been the combination of Mary
(guitar) and Randy Ord (guitar and bass) of Harmony, Pa.
Their blend is unmistakable and
reflects the years they've spent singing together. When one adds the
soulful vocals of Fombell, Pa.'s Bernie Cunningham (mandolin,
guitar and bass) to the mix, it becomes a special treat. Their great
singing is supported by the stellar banjo and fiddle work of
Latrobe's Don Shean. Local fans are well aware of the
instrumental talents of both Don and Bernie through their years of
working together as members of Pittsburgh's Dog Run Boys and Second
Wind bands.
