Jackson Township has certainly been in the news a lot lately as a
result of a controversial zoning ordinance that went into effect
in late 2001. Elected officials and angry citizens have been
center-stage as the township transitions. There might still be
confusion and miscommunication about the new ordinance, but the
township's Web site is phenomenal. Supervisors actually put
minutes of meetings and a newsletter on the Web site for all to
read. That's an excellent practice that should be embraced by
residents who want to learn the truth, and it's an idea that
should be copied by other municipalities. The site address is
