Jackson Township Tax Information
Real Estate Taxes:
Real Estate Taxes are based on a millage basis. In Jackson Township, 1 mill = $1.00 of tax per every $1,000 of Real Estate Assessed Value. In Cambria County, property values are based on 50% of the assessed valuation. Therefore, if your assessed real estate valuation is 40,000, this means that your real estate has an assumed market value of $80,000. On an assessed property of 40,000, one mill of tax would be equal to $40.00.
Per Capita Tax is a flat rate levied upon each adult within the taxing district. This tax has no connection with employment, income, voting rights or any other factor except residence within the community. In Jackson Township, the Township has a $5.00 Per Capita Tax and Central Cambria School District has a $10.00 Per Capita Tax. Jackson Township exempts those who are over 65 years of age, widows between the ages of 50 and 65 and those who are on total disability from this tax.
