Tour de Toona - 2007

On Tuesday, July 24, 2007, the Tour de Toona International Bicycle Race made it's way through Jackson Township.  The race began at Waste Management's Laurel Highlands Landfill site and made it's way up Chickaree Hill Road, down US Route 22 onto PA Route 271 and then on through Mineral Point, Richland Township, Windber and ended up at Waste Management's Cairnbrook site.  There were 200 men and 150 women from all around the globe who took part in the event.

entering out on the highways during the race.

certain the roadways are clear of any traffic.
