OCTOBER 31,  2006

On October 31, 2006, at 7:00 p.m. the Jackson Township Planning Commission held a workshop to review the proposed subdivision changes. The workshop was called to order by Chairman Al Gailey. All members were present.

Rick Fetzer spoke on behalf of the Zoning Hearing Board. They are requesting that the Planning Commission and the Zoning Board meet and have a workshop. This would be to make sure everyone is administering and reviewing the ordinances in the same way and to discuss any concerns that each other may have. It was agreed that a workshop should be held perhaps in January or February when things slow down. A suggestion was made to make this a quarterly meeting.

Mr. Fetzer also urged the Planning Commission to leave no stone unturned when looking at the windmill amendment to the zoning. Bruce Baker commented that we have a lot of time into this amendment and will take a long hard look at what we recommend to the supervisors for adoption.

Paul Wyrwas read a letter from the County Planning Commission about the grant application the Central Cambria Coalition sent in.

Mr. Pat Rabits was present to take notes and make the changes to the draft subdivision that the Planning Commission was reviewing. Bruce Baker was to check with the solicitor on how to make a lot line change as simple as possible and to reduce the number of years to submit a final plan from five to three years.

The Planning Commission has also been reviewing several amendments to the zoning ordinance including windmills, campgrounds, home occupations, signs, pet cemeteries/crematories, wild game reserves and outdoor furnaces. The Planning Commission will make their recommendations as they finish each review.

A list of reviewed draft subdivision changes will be compiled and sent to Richard Sutter, the township’s community planner.

Laird Rager made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:25 p.m. Paul Wyrwas seconded the motion. All in favor. Motion passed.

Respectively Submitted,
Paul Wyrwas - Secretary
